Social Media Revolution: Is social media a fad? Or is it the biggest shift since the Industrial Revolution? This video details out social media facts and figures that are hard to ignore. This video is produced by the author of Socialnomics.

Interesting. Anybody else noticed the symbol for IPod Apps.
This social rev is NOT a fad. You can take that to the bank. Like most soc revs the question is where did it start?
This so-called NEW revolution did not start with the ‘net or Ipod, but is just ANOTHER step in the electronic age. These observations and same statements were made with movies, radio, fones, TV, SAT, and now the net and Ipod.Fad, no. The likes of TimeWarner, GE, ViaCom, Sony, Lockheed, NSA, Microsoft, will see to that.
That would be Encyclopaedia Britannica to you
social media educated individuals.
where are your sources?
Right here, Right now - Fatboy Slim
75% of statistics are wrong.
Hey, Erik, how much do you make a year?
This is masturbation material for marketers, aka professional bullshitters.
Whoops, facebook, twitter and youtube are banned in China.
Couldn’t agree more. Definetely it’s a bit too long.
9 out of 10 times it is in the info panel on the top right or embedded in the video itself. IF you had watched the whole video, you would have seen they told you at the very end.
what is the song in this?
maybe this will help. search….The Decline And Fall Of The Human Race.
you sources are full of shit. your research is pathetic.
this is pathetic
35% of Amazon sales are through Kindle…can’t quite believe that, and a quick search isn’t turning up figures close to that.
Do you have a 2 minute version?
really very nice! do You know what software can we use to create videos like that?
80% of companies using Linked in as Primary tool for recruiting… that sounds a very dodgy stat..
It’s not the music, it’s the INTERFACE between the great graphics and music. I’ve forwarded this to more than one person who uses it as a motivational tool. Very well done!
It’s one of the biggest ‘drawbacks’ to these revolutionary developments: They don’t (yet) apply globally. Although I find it remarkable you say those poor countries use cell phones *still*, since cell phone technology has ‘only’ been mainstream for what, 15 years tops maybe? =) Shows how fast things are developing. I believe we’re in a current that’s growing exponentially more rapid and I’m curious to see where it leads us…
You d have to watch out though you don’t let it encourage you to become too narcissistic. The way Facebook and MySpace work, you’re basically forced by social pressure to have at least a couple dozen “Friends” even if you’re not close IRL. That & photo-posting ability, etc. make it very easy to develop the kind of shallow acquaintance/admirer collecting & showing-off behavior of narcissists. That & you job WILL Google you, you have to watch what you post; I know folks who got fired from it.
…hmm. That begs the question of what “Gen Y” even is.
I mean, I’ve never actually heard it used outside the English-speaking world, and I’m not sure it’s intended to apply cross-world, much like “Baby Boomer” and “Greatest Generation” were specific to American/Western experiences during and post-WWII. Then it would make a lot more sense, I think. Though it also matters hugely what you define as social media (many poor countries DO use cell phones still) & the sampling methods.
What are the links to where you got the statistics for how many years it took radio, tv, and the internet to reach 50 mil. users?
NO!!!!!!!!!
